We Have Strict Vaccination Requirements for Grooming and Boarding to Keep Your Pet Safe!

Important! Due to an outbreak of Canine Influenza at a kennel in Chicago in recent years, we require all dogs to be up to date on all shots including their Influenza Vaccines. Any facility that does not require the vaccines put your pet at an increased risk of contracting the virus.

  • We wash our grooming tables and room down after each client. Not doing so can spread Kennel Cough and parasites from pet to pet.
  • Distemper Vaccinations (suggested but not required), Ensuring your pet is up to date on Distemper is very important. Distemper can affect dogs, cats, foxes, wolves, raccoons, skunks, mink, weasels, otters, badgers, farrets and also wolverines. The Disease is highly contagious with no known cure. It is life threatening but if your pet survives it usually won’t contract the virus again.
  • Rabies Vaccinations, Rabies is widely known by the population and most animals are up to date on their shots. If contracted, there is no known cure.
  • Bordetella vaccinations are required due to the infectiousness of  the bacteria Bordetella bronchiseptica, also known as Kennel Cough.
  • H3N8 and H3N2 (Canine Flu) was recently reported in Chicago boarding facilities most likely brought in  from Asia. Both are a highly contagious viral infection and if a single animal is reported to have the infection, the entire facility needs to be quarantined. This is why any reputable groomer or boarder will require these vaccinations.
